What happens to your file

After uploading a file, you receive a link that you can share with others. Each completed download uses one of the link’s available downloads.

The file is deleted after its final allowed download or when its retention period ends, whichever happens first. Incomplete and expired uploads are also removed automatically.

What the service stores

Ephemeral stores your file and the information needed to deliver it, including its filename, type, size, upload time, and remaining download count.

The service does not require an account or create a personal file library.

Keeping your link secure

Uploads require a verification check to reduce automated abuse. Anyone with the download link can access the file while it remains available, so share the link only with its intended recipients.

Files are not end-to-end encrypted. The service operator can technically access stored files, and HTTPS protects files while they travel between your browser and the service.

Limitations

Only one file can be uploaded at a time. Downloads cannot be paused or resumed, and an interrupted download may still use one of the link’s available downloads.
